Sokha’s Story: Women in the World 2011
I don’t wish to add to the glamorization of poverty and hardship, but there are millions of girls like Sokha who crave the opportunity to attend school and their stories are worth sharing. This is a beautiful montage of a Cambodian girl’s story. After enjoying the short dance performace at the end. I hope you will be inspired to learn about what NGOs, governments and regular citizens can do to help girls attain education.
Just several steps out the door… watch out for motorbikes though!

How to Eat Fried Tarantulas in Cambodia
Angelina Jolie hasn’t tried them yet and neither have I (we prefer crickets), but it is a popular Cambodian snack and is full of protein.
Thanks Alex for sharing!
Food in Cambodia
Like in New York City, one can get their fill of exotic foods ranging from authentic Nepalese to Lebanese to Greek within moments’ notice, even at late hours of the night. I might even go as far as to say that access to these good-quality delicacies may be even easier in Phnom Penh than in New York because of the city’s geographic location, pricing and size — everything’s only a short tuk-tuk ride away.)
For one of our many upcoming events in the spring, SEADS in Cambodia will be hosting a screening of “Enemies of the People.” Please take a look at the trailer posted and stay tuned for the event at the end of this month. What a great way to kick off Asian/Asian Pacific Heritage month.
